Leonards Losers Tribute 2017 Week 9 College Football Picks
October 26th 2017 – Week 9
Welcome to the Halloween Edition of Zanes Zeros; hopefully this weekend will be half as exciting as last weekend. Keep the trick or treaters safe and enjoy the picks.
Georgia at Florida
The Clarke County Canines have been invited to the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail part for Halloween. This party has not been as much fun for the Dawgs as it used to be. The Dawgs have had a great year so far; and would love to leave the party as the big winner instead of suffering from another Florida hangover. The Gators have underachieved this season and a loss would bring their record down below 500. The Gators seem to have Georgia’s number; but I have a feeling this is going to be a Dawg Day afternoon.

TCU at Iowa St.
Gomez and Mortisha need a vaca from Lurch, Cousin Itt, Uncle Fester and that creepy hand in the box. In typical Adams family fashion they decide to get away from dreary Fort Worth and head to, gulp, Ames. This has been a most unpleasant place to visit lately especially on Saturday afternoons. Gomez probably should have consulted AAA before jumping in the Hurst and heading north. Say la ve, you spoke French!

Miami (Fla.) at North Carolina
Norman and his mom will have their popcorn ready when Miami takes on the Tar Heels Saturday. The Hurricanes won a crazy one last week as they sent the Orange of Syracuse to the showers losers last Saturday. North Carolina played dead when they played against Virginia Tech last week; and unfortunately they will face more stormy weather this week.
Zanes Zero – North Carolina
USC at Arizona St.
Scooby and Shaggy follow Coach Helton in the Mystery Machine to Tempe to face the Sun Devils of Arizona State. If Thelma can keep Fred away from Daphne they might be able to give the Sun Devils a loss. Unfortunately for the Trojans, the Globetrotters of Notre Dame threw a bucket of confetti in their face last week. Sam Darnold will be handing out the Scooby snacks and does not want to be tricked. However, Tempe can be a scary place so it’s possible that the Sun Devils will be dining on steak Saturday afternoon. But sometimes if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.
Zanes Zero – Zoinks, Arizona State
Oklahoma St. at West Virginia
Young Linus will be sitting in the Morgantown patch waiting on the Great Pumpkin Saturday. Last Saturday Lucy kept screwing up Charlie Brown every time he tried to kick the ball. By the way she’s put on a few pounds. Instead of the Great Pumpkin, Linus is going to find the man with the mullet and a high powered offense. This is going to turn into a massive food fight with a lot of smashed pumpkins.

Georgia Tech at Clemson
The Tigers of Clemson host the Yellow Jackets in Clemson this Saturday. Clemson has exorcised demons of years past and are making another championship run. The Jackets may need to get a phone number of a good priest from Dabo as they have been possessed in their 2 one point losses. This game should be fun to watch because both teams can score so fast it can make your head spin; but the Yellow Jackets chances of being healed this week are slim to none.
Zanes Zero Georgia Tech
NC State at Notre Dame
NC State heads north to South Bend to take on Notre Dame in a battle of top 25 teams. The Wolfpack is trying to be the Gatekeeper of the ACC this year and ain’t afraid of no ghosts. The Irish turned USC into a pile of green Ecotoplasmic Goo last week and only have one loss themselves. Notre Dame is averaging more than 40 points a game and has not given up more than 20 once. State will give the Irish a game but I think Notre Dame will prevail again.
Zanes Zero – NC State
UCLA at Washington
The Munsters get out of Hollywood to the Northwest to play with the Huskies. Washington had been playing like Cujo for most of the year but looked more like Benji the last time they were on the field. Herman promised Eddie a new pet and is hopeful that Cujo doesn’t show up at home this weekend. If I were Herman I would start looking at goldfish.
Zanes Zero – UCLA
Penn St. at Ohio St.
The Nittany Lions prowl over to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes in a Big Ten battle. Last week Penn State crushed Michigan at home to stay unbeaten and ranked second in the country. Since Ohio State’s week 2 loss against Oklahoma, they have outscored their opponents 266-56….not too shabby. If Ohio State loses their chances of making the college playoff are pretty much gone; I think the Buckeyes hand Penn State their first loss on the year.
